So, we moved an OLD roll top desk from my grandmother's house to my house this past weekend. It had to weigh a ton, but I digress. This desk was in my house when I was a wee tyke and it was old then (I'm 37) so I guess that automatically makes it an antique, right? Any possible way of determining how old it really is and whether or not it's worth anything?

my grandmother gave me one as well.....HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY

and its a double pedestal so its not easily moved....

I don't know what a double pedestal is but it sounds even heavier than mine.

Once we took the roll top off and the drawers out, it was much more manageable.

Are there any hidden drawers in it? There could be an old letter in it from the Revolutionary or Civil war....or something.

I used to think that antiques were old and stupid until I started seeing some stuff in antique stores that I had in my room as a kid.:O
