Nothing wrong will seeing movies late.

Those of us with families, jobs and hectic internet commitments take a while to get around to stuff.

I thought Shrek and Shrek 2 were both awesome. There's no shame in being amused by a well-done kiddie movie.

#2 not-so much.

So, you're saying you haven't seen them?

Both are pretty good, but the second one tries a little too hard. Antonio Banderas as Puss n' Boots. Heh.

I knew Dean would be a fan of a character that could lick his own privates. :D

i've seen them both, i answered his question, which was "is #2 any better than #1"

my answer was "if you are 8, then yes"

i found both of them entertaining, but neither really better than the other

I thought #2 was better than #1 in the sense it had more real life/adult references and more characters. However, I never rate sequels higher than the originals, except for Rambo.

um, Godfather, Empire...

i thought Antonio Banderas was really funny

Godfather II is in the top 5 of all time, but behind I. While DeNiro carried II, the lack of Brando and Caan put it a notch below. Plus, the hits at the end of I were much better than Fredo in the boat.

The Star Wars movies were what I was thinking of when I said I never rate sequels as high as the originals because it is easy once you have a hit on your hands. Star Wars came from nowhere to become a smash. After that, Lucas has carte blanche financially and creatively to do whatever he wanted. Thus, the sequels were easy compared to getting that first one done. Without the original greatness of Star Wars, the sequels never get made.

I know I've been gone awhile, but has the South Oval lost all humor?

on a serious note i was giving some thought to alot of the conflict on here lately, and i think the single one factor is the age difference between those going after each other....

Anyone see Shrek 3?

My little one saw it last weekend and she has been quoting it all week...her favorite part is this:

I like big butts and I cannot lie, you udder brudders can't deny, when a girl walks in wida itty bitty waist and a round thing in your face you get......feeeelings

I guess in the movie they interrupted the singer before he was able to spit out the word "sprung"

Then she says to me, "I know what the round thing is mom"

Nice. But she seems to have enjoyed it and wants to see it again....we may go see it today since it is all rainy.

Me and the girlfriend are planning to see it this afternoon. Last week, she gave me a crash course by making me watch the first two Shrek movies, and I got hooked. BTW, our favorite characters are Donkey and Puss In Boots.

Saw it, it was good. Being able to work in The Immigrant Song and Barracuda was a major plus.

Both my wife and I fell asleep in Shrek Z. Not their best work. The funniest scene was the high school part.

That was the best scene in the movie IMHO.

The 5 and 6 year olds sat through the entire thing and seemed to like it.

The first one is still my favorite.

Taxman71

The only problem with 3 is it seems like they crammed alot in the alloted time, which diluted everything, especially since they had so many cameo stars. It would have been better if it were 3 hours long (like Pirates 3) but I aint' sitting with a 3 year old in a crowded movie theater for 3 hours.
