had to look twice huh?

I'll admit Henry has done a few good things but I still expect Buck Owens to break out his guitar everytime the Gov speaks.

That dress looks like something Mack Brown's paid escort would've picked out. Way to represent the sisters of our state, biatch.

Next time, use some of the lottery money the state's supposed to be profiting from, and hire the Fab Five to show you how to dress appropriately. Better yet, ask yourself: "What would Carol Stoops wear?" SHE'D never have looked at that rag, let alone put it on for public viewing.

Eeeeewwww.

Our Uncle Scott Momaday spoke at the inauguration. He mumbled on about the Navajos and something about the killing of sheep. I didn't quite get what he was saying. He does that quite often, now that he has gotten quite older.

UPDATE: Blue latex uniboob creation admitted..you can buy a copy in Norman.

Oklahoma designer, reality-TV star dressed First Lady

Kayne Gillaspie insists he's not leaving, despite how far he's gone.

"I'm staying in Oklahoma," said Gillaspie, who co-owns Southern Charm, a formal wear boutique in Norman.

Many of you probably know him from his stint on the Bravo network's hit reality show "Project Runway," during which his design for Miss USA Tara Connor won the second episode's competition. Connor wore the gown to the Miss Universe pageant.

Gillaspie's most recent beauty to dress hails closer to home. Last month, he was asked to design First Lady Kim Henry's gown for the Governor's Tulsa Inaugural Gala, which was held on Saturday. She contacted him first, by the way.

"She's just a joy to work with," Gillaspie said recently during a phone interview from Norman. Henry was supposed to arrive any minute to pick up her gown -- a dazzling silvery blue German silk velvet, bias-cut dress that looks "almost like mercury," he explained.

"It's a very sexy, sophisticated style, and it still shows the shape," said Gillaspie, who consulted with Henry before making the gown.

He also did new Lt. Gov. Jari Askins' gown, an amethyst silk chiffon with intricate handbeading, which she wore to Monday night's inaugural festivities in Oklahoma City.

"It's been crazy-busy," he said, alluding to the foot and phone traffic Southern Charm has experienced since the "Project Runway" hullabaloo.

And to think he could've been a veterinarian. Gillaspie, who was born and raised in Nashville, Tenn., began his education and career in pre-vet medicine, according to his bio on BravoTV.com. He worked at a vet clinic for more than four years before taking a design job as a sketch artist for a Tennessee pageant shop.

Soon, he fell in love with fashion, switched majors and moved to New York City, where he attended the Fashion Institute of Technology.

In 2002, he returned to Nashville and opened his own boutique, designing his own clothes, the Web site stated. But in 2003, he met his current partner and bought Southern Charm, which is well known in Norman and beyond for its pageant and formal wear.

Then, "Project Runway" came along, and his local acclaim grew national. He has a shoe line, Johnathan Kayne, which will be available soon at ShoeBuy.com and Zappos.com, he said. Macy's, which was a "Project Runway" sponsor, is anxious to see the line, and he might pitch it to Dillard's, too.

Some people, particularly outside the Sooner State, might be surprised at an Oklahoman's grasp of and, potentially, effect on fashion. Not Gillaspie, who counts Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli and Versace among his favorite designers.

"We don't get the credit we deserve," he said. "There's a lot of great, stylish people in Oklahoma. Kim Henry's one of them -- she's got great style."

So did "Project Runway" castmates Michael and Uli, who were among the four finalists in the show's third-season finale. He admits being "surprised" by Jeffrey's win.

"I thought he was talented, for sure," Gillaspie said, but not more so than the others. "I honestly thought Uli's was incredible."

Each of his contestants had his or her own style, and Gillaspie's forte was definitely formals. A stroll through his pink store with black-and-white tiles showcase at least 40 of his own designs.

And, if it's up to him, you'll see even more in the future.

"I have a lot more tricks up my sleeve," Gillaspie said.

You'll find Southern Charm at 211 34th Ave. SW in Norman. For store hours and more information, call (405) 579-2789.

In all seriousness, could you imagine one of your kids coming home looking like that? Or worse yet, one of your sons bringing something like that home? I need to go wash my hands now. Geez.

I would have paid big money to see that guy stick to being a vet and show up at Dean's house ready to take someone's temperature.
