Peking is now Bejing. What's up with that? Shouldn't we change the name of Waco to Whacko or something more descriptive?

Personally, I'm more anxious for Istanbul to change back to Constantinople. I refuse to visit until they change it.

To be fair, the name of Beijing never changed, the spelling was just changed to more accurately reflect what it was actually called. Sort of like Edo vs. Tokyo.

And I think the residents prefer St. Petersburg now.

I always wondered how the French word for China came to be "Chinois", pronounced "she-nwah". Then I discovered that the Chinese word for China is pronounced.....[drum roll] "she-nwah".

On the Brazos? They have halibut?

It's a little chilly up here for halibut fishing right now. Air temp was -7 on the way to work, which means I keep my butt off of a boat.
