Just got back from the Stratford FB awards dinner - Well, it was the other night. After the usual year end pep crap and gladhanding- they showed the Stratford highlight video.

All I can say is "Holee Crap!!" Luck is good, very good! First of all, it should have been called the Andrew Luck Highlight vid, b/c he was the offensive output of their team and he is the real deal. He had enough highlights for two years. Really good field smarts, a good release and some wheels when he needed them. He did this with little apparent help as far as speed, sans one guy, #3. I wish we were in on him b/c he reminded me a little of JW. I really liked what I saw in the kid. He seemed like a good kid too. Their coach has to be drooling at the fact that he has him for another year.

Yeah, we're looking at him although it might be hard to lure him away from the Texas schools. We're also looking at Landry Jones from New Mexico for next year. Word seems to be that we will probably have a better shot at Jones than Luck.

Do a search for him on youtube.com...I posted a video of a deep bomb that he threw at the game I went to against Cy-Falls...very remniscient of Jason White...and the guys could not tackle him either...I immediately tried to call Coach Stoops office to leave a message about the kid...apparently he had something more important to do like beat OSU...

Any new info on the interest from Landry? Last I saw, Colorado and the Domers were pretty high on his list.

It was also mentioned that he wouldn't wait to commit, but once he made a choice would announce. Is this still true?

The big thing about Landry is that he came to OU's camp last summer and they apparently were VERY impressed with him and when you are a potential recruit, there's nothing better than coming to the camp of a prospective school, even if they aren't holding a big event like AtM had last year. Might be tough to get him with Nichol and Bradford being so young. I really don;t think he'll wind up at ND with all of the depth they are going to have at QB and seeing how Jimmy Clausen is being annointed the next Montana...

After seeing pics of that kid, what do you think the over/under is on his upperclassmen teammates duct-taping him to a goal post and shaving him bald?

He's enrolling early, right? I give it 3 spring practice sessions. If not enrolling early I say day 5 of fall camp...

If you did not see the ESPN special on him and his ND committment, you missed a GEM. Pretty boy had his escorts taking him, dressed in a formal suit and tie, to the podium in ND's equivalent of the Switzer Center to make his decision "official" (even though he had already declared) to the ND media.

If you didn't see the farks of him holding up his 3 state rings in that press conference, you missed another GEM! This kid is such a prima donna. I give him till the first day he sets foot on campus before the guys start harassing him and hazing him to no end.

On the ESPN special I spoke of, a lot of the current ND players were kind of rubbed the wrong way with all of the spectacle for this HS kid that hasn't done a damn thing in college yet. Plus, all of the hype surrounding him, I think he's much more likely to choke rather than be the next Heisman winner at ND as the guys on the scout network dubbed him during the Army AA game.

Once again, ND and their new media darling folks: Jimmy Clausen.
