Clock rules question?

COuld Bob have pulled a wisconsin type dealio at the end to run time off the clock? Didi he not think of it? Does he have to much class to do it? Did he not want to take the penalty and give the run back guy extra yardage?
I really don't understand the clock rules well enough to know the answer here, just curious.

The NCAA directed the referees to start handing out unsportsman-like conducts if they think that the team kicking off was intending to do it.

That'd eventually back you up enough that they'd go ahead and take the spot on a fair catch.
