In the fairly near future, I will be headed to Beatrice, NE for a family christmas, then to Diller, NE for a friends wedding, followed by a cousin's birthday party, followed by a wedding reception. Tomorrow morning, I will drive to Wichita where I will rest up to get ready to drive to the Cotton Bowl monday morning, after which I will be stopping in Denton, and then driving back to Wichita Monday afternoon. I will return home on Tuesday. I will also likely set foot on Oklahoma soil for the first time ever. Should be all sorts of exciting.

if you want some coffee, good biscuits and gravy hillbilly breakfast....take the Perry, OK First St. exit (about an hour and a half south of Wichita).....a couple miles into the Perry town square and find the Kumback Cafe on the square (easy to find).

edit: they may not be open on New Year's Day....but they might. i also didn't see the orignial date on the post....so royal5 is gonna miss out.

Those Cotton Bowl seats are mighty cold this time of year. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86/OUmom/iced22.gif

I drove to Gainsville today and there were about fifty cars with Nebraska tags at DWs Adult Video when I drove past. ;)

T-10 mins til my departure from Wichita. For those of you watching the game at home, I'll be the Nebraska fan in black and red next to a Nebraska fan wearing red in the Upper deck.

After 17 hours of driving and football off 4 hours of sleep here are my impressions. Oklahoma looks very nice and scenic south of OKC, everything north of OKC we drove through in darkness. It reminded me of North Central/Northwest Nebraska except for the red dirt. I was disappointed in your speed limits and the general condition of I-35. I noticed Oklahoma has casinos while Texas has porn. My rankings of the places we stopped in Oklahoma.
1)Norman-Gas Station staff was friendly and donuts were fresh and gas cheap
2)Ardmore-Much the same as Norman but they get knocked down because my pants broke there.
3)TonKawa-Seemed like a nice place-very tired by the point we stopped there
4)OKC-Nice gas station staff-points deducted for a very foul bathroom and my radio difficulties cause I couldn't find any rock
5)Moore-Nothing open when we tried to stop in morning. That made me mad, therefore I rank Moore at the bottom of Oklahoma for my stops.

All in all a nice trip except for the game outcome, and not getting to see more of your fine state, and Moore which can bite me.

Also, why are there so many broken down cars along I-35. It seemed to be an excessive amount compared to I-29 and I-80?

It must have been all the Mexicans towing cars back to Mexico.

Where did you stop in Ardmore and how do you break your pants?

I am guessing Loves on the stop and I have no guess on the pants.

If you did stop at Loves you were about half a mile from my house.

Love's, and the button popped off the top while I was undoing my belt in the restroom. So I had to cinch up my belt tighter. How big is Ardmore? It's hard to tell from the interstate.

Around 25,000.

Ardmore is the future home of the MG car plant.

That was my guess. It seemed a lot like Kearney Nebraska from what I could see from the interstate.
