Bush Gives Lazy Government Workers Day Off (http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2006/12/20061228-3.html)

No one call on Tuesday. I will be in mourning for Gerald Ford and recovering from late night Fiesta! :D




I wanted to come in, but they (Government) won't let me.:O

Yeah, the gov workers will be off, except for the casket team, the caisson platoon, the firing party, the band, the chaplain, the guards, etc.

It's the duty they signed on for. God bless em'.

yeah, since I'm a contractor on base, I still have to come it. Most are off this week as well, but I'm here collecting a check.

Really? My dad is a contract employee out at FAA and they are forcing him to use 8 hours of his annual leave.

I'm a contractor on a contract. lol. If I dont' work, I don't get paid. Even holidays. Sucks being the n00b.

here's the kicker: critical staff that have to be there get holiday pay (double pay).

at least that's how it is at the VA. my wife was really pushing to be listed as critical, but they're not letting anyone from the directors office work Tuesday.
