The U2 thread got me to thinking...

I hate Pink Floyd.

Do I blame it on Greg Zuback and the KATT? Sometimes I think so.

Floyd has some nice tunes I guess but they get more airplay than that damned Kia commercial.

Now I have to turn the station whenever any Pink Floyd comes on.

I have learned to hate them.

the mainstream stuff is good - the wall, dark side. it's the stuff that you have to go digging for that is great. their early stuff is very interesting. jazzy, bluesy - but not like early stones. still has that strange bit of funk to it. and of course, some influence from mind-altering chemicals.

what's the big deal about Pink Floyd? they're geniuses, that's what.

edit: also, I may be going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing there weren't a lot of drugs involved in batonrouge's younger days or this topic would have never come up.

Sounds like Batonrouge was sober when he saw the Pink Floyd laser-light show at the KATT indoor funfest in 1986.
