View Full Version : Either really cool or really lame idea...

So I was thinking since we're all going to be hanging around at 1 of 2 or 3 bars, and tailgating pre-game, how about if we make a "Thank You Paul Thompson" sign and get a bunch of people to sign it, then hand it over to some trustworthy individual who can ensure that it gets into his hands. Obviously we can't say enough about what he's done for this program during his tenure, and I think it would be a seriously nice thing to do.

So what say you, cool or lame? Who's in? If not, please don't make fun of me, I'm very fragile.

Definitely cool!

Frankly I'm surprised something hasn't erupted already in the stands at the games. A Thompson chant or at least SOMETHING! He's been a hero all season long and he deserves a lot of love folks.

He deserves any and all accolades he can get, I hope he is MVP of the Fiesta Bowl....

Be sure to include some sort of representative signing of all of us here at Soonerfans.com ... we're all behind him and many of us always have been!

That is a very cool idea.

How about hanging it somewhere in the stadium.

What's an even better idea is to pass out a TON of fliers to the entire OU section that reads:

"Please join us in a chant between the third and fourth quarters to Thank Paul Thompson for everything he's done this year. You wouldn't be in this seat reading this if it weren't for him"

THANK-YOU-PAAAAUL!! (clap, clap, clap clap clap)

I was thinking something similar. Eeveryone who attends the games is familiar with "Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu" and "Reggie" cheers, why not something similar like "PT, PT, PT . . . . ." after he makes a good play and at the conclusion of the game?

Maybe some are already doing that, but I have never noticed it at any of the games.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to #1-Erin-Higgins-Fan again.

I say we take him to Bourbon Street. Not the one in New Orleans. The one in Phoenix. Me and Davin Joseph had a good time there last year with Rod Wright and Michael Huff.

That's a great idea. All Sooner fans need to let PT know that everything he has accomplished during his time at OU is not only appreciated but admired and will be for years to come.

Excellent idea. Not only the coaches needed someone to be the leader on the field. We have the best coaches in football, not just college. IMHO

I've got to say, the standing ovation PT got during the T TECH game when they gave him the Don Key Award was one of the finer moments I ever saw. Everyone around me was screaming and cheering. We talked about his sacrifices for nearly 15:00 until kickoff, and then some after the game... People I didn't even know!!!

Another reason for me to hate being stuck in FL instead of at home in Norman.

I sure wish y'all at home would make a big sign and a big to-do when the team has their victory return from Glendale.

Thompson should go in the annals of Sooner legends for what he's given to this team, especially this year. He's a true gentleman and civilian hero.
