I was wondering that too...I went with some friends, bought tickets in section 206 for $45 each, not bad for 2 (actually, 2 1/4) games. Sloppy game, but our defense looked great. I just wish our fans would have been a little more vocal...the Aggy was loud.

I'd like to see Maze get more PT (not ENA), but if Capel's not putting him in, there has to be a reason. It wouldn't surprise me if it was an attitude problem.

I noticed yesterday that Bobby had a sour look on his face and moved to the end of the bench by mid-second half. And while every one of his bench teammates would stand up and cheer on the players on the floor after making a play, Bobby remained seated and unenthusiastically clapped.

Thoughts from the game:

--I just love what I see from an energy, intensity, and strategy standpoint. Our defense yesterday was unreal-- we were all over the place for 40 minutes. We contested everything in the paint, and we even contested most jump shots. Capel kept switching up the defense, which really seemed to confound TU.

--Crocker is the real deal. Totally smooth. I actually thought he should have been the MVP of the game over Earls. I think Tony is still deferring on offense a bit to the older guys, but he's the one player on the roster that can beat people off the dribble. He also played the passing lanes and was all over the court on defense.

--Capel is using L2 exactly as he should. Everyone knows (from Capel on down) that L2 isn't a great option in the post. But he's all we have. Instead of going away from him when he's having one of his "what the hell is Longar doing" games, Capel kept pounding away, giving him the ball in the paint. By moving the ball inside, it gets the offense going, keeps us out of that annoying "pass around the perimeter" BS, and forces the action. It's like Capel is bound and determined to turn L2 into a viable threat no matter what. And I'll tell you this-- Longar will never be Karl Malone, but I'll bet you money that he's a pretty good scorer by his senior year. Obviously, L2 being the lone inside threat isn't ideal, but Capel isn't going to let that by an excuse either. I love that strategy.

--Best win of the season. Nothing overly impressive, as TU is also really small inside. Their 8-1 record was certainly padded with some real patsies. I see them as a .500 team at very best. So, I'm not going insane with this victory. However, it was a good win. We're the "bigger" program, yet I thought we played with more of a "dirty dog" attitude than they did. We kind of just beat them up until we won.

So far, Capel is really winning me over.

I agree 100%. This what what was totally lacking from the Villanova game. This team has to bring it every night. If they do they can be a "mild surpise" this year. I am starting to think this team could hit .500 in Big 12 play.

I think the media in Tulsa (at least on Channel 2, which I watch) were pretty convinced that TU was going to come in there and beat OU. It sure seemed like it with the stories they were running the days leading up to the game.

TU is much improved, and I think Wojick is the real deal. I was glad that we were able to get this win.

BTW...don't sleep on SMU. They come to town on Thursday sporting an 9-1 record. Several softies in there of course, but they did have a nice win over a 10-2 Dayton team.
