I dont think it matters. If Stoops thinks he needs to remove the names to motivate his team the so be it

Couldn't care less. I think I missed it about 2 whole times this year. I've seen what they'd look like with them on, and it looks weird. The stretchy fabric makes them look weird.

that's not why there aren't names on the jerseys.. the numbers on the back of the new jerseys were too big and the names wouldn't have looked right.. straight from the horses mouth...

Didn't like it at first, gotten used to it. Key is Stoops is a smart guy and is doing this for a reason, let him go with it. Plus, I liked the uni's better way back when they didn't say sooners on the front...

no no, if the head coach gets his way with the jerseys, no way does the band director NOT get his way with the waving wheat thing

Names! If I've learned anything I've learned that in college football the coach is the boss. At least during the good years. But he should listen to the fans and the HS kids that wanna see their names on the teevee.

Even after all the number changes and new faces, once you watch one or two games you learn who's who and hear who's on the sideline. Doesn't bother me without them. We never had 'em in High School, and I liked it...

BTW, if there are 85,000 who want them back, why poll?

Taking the names off the jerseys reminded me of texas A&M. Francione had the names taken off to get the team to play better. I think they proceeded to s*ck the rest of the year.

2. Waving wheat is gheeeeeeeeeeey.

Names! the HS kids that wanna see their names on the teevee.

That explains why all those high school all-Americans want to go to SUC.

And if they're in the game or on the sideline, how they gonna be watchin' TV? ;)

It doesn't matter, except when you have duplicate numbers. In some cases, we might be twisting our heads in knots, but most are easy.

Example: Jonathan Nelson and Malcolm Kelly both wear #4. I'm fairly certain that the 5 inches and opposite sides of the ball are good enough to differentiate the two except on special teams (and Kelly isn't going to be returning kicks anytime soon).

Many times the difference is complexion. Does anybody really think they might mistake Brandon Caleb and Ryan Reynolds (#8) or Dom Franks and Joey Halzle (#15)?

Basically, who cares? We identify players by number 99.9% of the time, anyway. Who the heck can see names from that far away?

It's a lot easier to see your name on the tv in the graphics the tv network puts on the broadcast than it is to see the name on the jersey at the bottom of a pile. Just sayin'. ;)

The jerseys look fine without the names. I don't want to overstate this, but, the nameless jerseys help promote a 'team first' atmosphere. I have nothing against including names on the jerseys, but it isn't necessary.

If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.
