Does it really count as Schadenfreude if it was at least partially because you benefitted?
If it doesn't, then you could fix your comment as follows:
Schadenfreude (def). n. 1. The feeling the f'in hillbillies had when they learned that Texas was going to the Alamo Bowl.

German cars - smell like gasoline
Which is especially strange because they all have diesel engines.

Everybody feels it, but the Germans admit it by giving it a name.

How does David Hasselhoff fit into all this?
I'll drink a bad German beer over a "good" mass market American beer any time. I do believe very strongly however that United States craft beer is among the best beer in the world.

Factoid:
"WienerSchnitzel" is NOT a sausage. It is, in specific, "ViennaSchnitzel", a dish made from thin-sliced veal. There many other varieties, many made with pork, but all are basically the Austria (Osterreich, with an umlaut above the "O".) version of chicken-fried steak.

And here's my fave...Holsteiner Schnitzel, pork cutlet with a very runny egg, usually comes with anchovies crisscrossed on top.

"Wien"-Vienna as the 'Strians spell it.
"Vindabona"-Vienna to all dem dead Romans.
Well, Homey'll cover History...and very, very well. I'll be the food police, LOL!
Have a safe and loving Christmas, Troup.
