My mom went to a small town ER over the weekend and her blood pressure was elevated. So they gave her something for it and told her to go see a doctor when she got back to Dallas. Well she just did that, and he didn't like her EKG, so he told her to go straight to the ER and have a stress EKG done, and emergency blood work (so it can get tested right away). It's really early, but when one doctor tells you to go to an ER because he don't like the way your EKG looks and she has some level of a "pressure" feeling in her chest, it's definitely not good. I'll update later tonight. Hopefully it's nothing. :O

Update:

The blood test came back ok. Her enzyme levels were normal, so there was Sno undetected stroke or heart attack. She is staying the night for observation, as her blood pressure is still elevated. It's not quite the 200 it was when she was admitted, but it's still above normal at around 175. They'll do the stress test EKG in the morning when the cardiologist is there.

So, so far things looks ok.

Update 2:

She was released last night. All her tests came back OK, but she has to go on medicine to regulate her blood pressure and needs to exercise and diet more to get her cholesterol down (not that high, but still).

Thanks for the prayers. This place is the awesome...sometimes :D

Glad it's nothing too major and they caught it. Make sure she does what they tell her to do. The medicines and exercise do wonders. It's a pain in the ***, but much better than a heart attack. Those buggers hurt.
