Is there a better movie about High School than Dazed and Confused?

Maybe Porky's, Lean on Me?

what says the SO?

Red Dawn is the best but I consider that a war movie.

Ditto! The problem with Dazed and Confused is that it takes place in Austin and has the Longhorn Dude in it. ;)

I am on the Dazed and Confused bandwagon. I contend that Wooderson was that whorns best movie role ever.

I think I like it so much because I was in grade school during the 70's, and I remember high school guys doing the same exact things. Chasing the freshmen down and dogpiling them, whooping them and the girls making the freshmen girls roll eggs on the sidewalks, eat all sorts of crap, lick mustard off sidewalks...stuff like that. By the time I got to be a freshman, they had stopped all that stuff...the worse thing we had to avoid was being caught in the locker room without a coach around, thats when you got the icy hot on the scrotal area.

best Wooderson line

That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age.

that's the best line of the movie

i'd have a hard time choosing between Dazed and Confused and Fast Times at Ridgemont High

i like watching either just to see all the people that went on to do other stuff :D

Fast Times by far.

you can't give credit to a movie that has both MM and BA.

yermom
12/15/2006, 12:29 PM
it's not like MM or BA stink up the movie... i don't think anyone would hate BA if he stuck to roles like that one :D

Scott D
12/15/2006, 12:37 PM
that's only because that movie stunk enough that you didn't notice the additional stench they brought into it. :)

Boomer.....

What's funny is that BA wasn't even listed as one of the main characters. he was a nobody back then, yet a better actor.

The whole batch from the 80's deserves mentioning, namely:

Sixteen Candles
Breakfast Club
Vision Quest
All The Right Moves

American Pie was pretty good.

But Fast Times and Dazed and Confused both have them beat.

i guess it was just filmed in/around Austin

from imdb:

Reportedly one-sixth of the film's budget was spent on acquiring the rights to 1970s pop hits on the soundtrack.

wow, it was a hell of a soundtrack though

maybe in or out of the strictly HS genre (though, strict definition of terms has never been a pre-req on the SO before politics threads ....how's about Breaking Away? post HS, I guess.

Did anyone check out the "Matt Damon gets mad at Jimmy Kimmel" video? Damon was either really ****ed or is one of the best actors ever. I thought he was going to pop a vein in that one.

I second the Airborne comment. I'll go ahead and throw out a License to Drive, as well. We can't neglect the Coreys.
