One of the founding fathers of the old AFL, and the man who coined the term "Super Bowl." Also one of the all-time great owners in pro sports.

If Tex Schramm was the biggest innovator of the sport of football, Lamar Hunt was a close second.

Not to mention, Hunt's entreprenurial spirit is evident in the sport of tennis and Major League Soccer.

By all accounts, you'd never know he was a millionaire if you just met him. Common man and a great visionary. The sports world lost a giant a few hours ago.

It would be nice to see KC rename Arrowhead after him like they did Royals Stadium after Mr. Kauffman died.

Truly an innovator, ambassador, and by all accounts a great human being. As a Chiefs fan I am doubly sad today!!

Is it true that Hunt's name was listed in the Dallas phone book?

Well, now he won't be luring Stoops to the NFL.
