Is this the most advertised movie in history? Seems like I've been seeing ads for this thing for a month. It still hasn't come out!

I am sick and tired of hearing about it.

Now, let's begin the "It's such a touching story" and "it's about a football team, therefore, it must be a good movie" comments.

Typically ad revenue directly correlates with suckitude.

nothing was advertised more than the story of a scaliwag who won a ticket, and a woman betrothed to a high class man whom was making an initial trip to the United States in the fateful year of 1912.

Who is the last person you'd pick to see as a tough football coach in a movie? For me it's:

1) Bikerfox
2) Richard Simmons
3) M M

They should have killed off mm and let the terminator coach the rest of the way.

I hope Matthew (the non-Jack version) doesn't overact the whole movie like he does in the snippets of the speech they have in the trailer. "The crash is part of who we are. We cannot forget that. It's how we got here. . ."

Right up front, this terrific movie about courage establishes itself."

When is the movie going to be made about the inspiring story of Wichita State resurrecting their football program after their 1970 plane crash (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wichita_State_University#Football_team_tragedy)?

Oh, that's right... ...they never did recover, and they killed the football program in '86. Carry on.

The effort of building a new team and the results will warm the hearts of football fans everywhere."

It took Marshall a long time to recover, they were terrible until the Mid-80's. They just happened to win a game that first season that made a good movie.

sir, kate winslet's naked body was the only redeeming quality of the movie. but yet, the msm glossed over this fact. damn them and their agendas!

I like that actor who is the sober version of MM much much better. I forget his name but I think it's Luke or Lucas or something and he looks just like MM...only clean.

I'm a little sick of the great hype machine and I'm definitely no great fan of MM (although I thought Contact was excellent) but I'm still going to go see the movie.

Yeah... I won't be seeing this one....

I have an auto-hate feature built into my programming; it triggers anytime I hear a "We Are...." chant.

Texas...
Penn State...
S-C....

You get the idea....

Couple that with naked-Tex-ex-bongo-toker dude in the lead roll...

I'll probably have lint to clean out of my belly button instead.

I went and saw the movie tonight as part of an advance screening. It was both awesome and touching. And keep in mind that this wasn't a figment of Hollywood's imagination; the plane crash really happened and the movie did a good job of depicting the emotions of both the school and the town following that devastating tragedy.
And I'm no fan of M.M., and I thought he was a little over the top at times during the picture, but he did a good job playing the role of the head coach. The guy from Lost also did a great job playing the assistant coach.
Overall, I would highly recommend this movie; they also did a good job with the retro logos, the soundtrack and even television clips from 1970 (I'm not going to give away the shows).

This movie is very similar to the Alabama coaching search...Waaayyy too much publicity, and in the end it is going to suck.

Yeah, that one and "the Titanic."
