Post predictions...and analysis if you feel so compelled.

I'll start...

San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl
December 19, 2006, ESPN2
Bowl Matchup: TCU vs. Northern Illinois
The bowl season kicks off with a bit of snoozer. TCU's sole losses came from BYU and Utah...and leave me wondering how much longer Gary Patterson will stay in Ft. Worth before big name schools come calling (are you listening Alabama?). NIU features the nation's top running back not named Adrian Peterson.
Prediction: TCU- 28, NIU- 13

Las Vegas Bowl
December 21, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Oregon vs. BYU
Sorry Oregon, you can't bring your corrupt Pac 10 officiating crew with you.
Prediction: BYU- 31, Oregon- 21

New Orleans Bowl
December 22, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Troy vs. Rice
Rice and bowl game in the same sentence? Conference USA must be down this year.
Prediction: Troy- 17, Rice- 14

New Mexico Bowl
December 23, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: New Mexico vs. San Jose State
Home game for the Lobos.
Prediction: New Mexico- 35, SJSU- 10

Papajohns.com Bowl
December 23, 2006, ESPN2
Bowl Matchup: East Carolina vs. South Florida
This one actually intrigues me, not so much as for the matchup as for just what the over/under will be on the number of Papa Johns commercials aired during the game.
Prediction: ECU- 20, South Florida- 16

Armed Forces Bowl
December 23, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Utah vs. Tulsa
Both teams appeared to head towards better bowl games before choking in the latter half of the season. This one's gonna be a shootout.
Prediction: Tulsa- 48, Utah- 45

Hawaii Bowl
December 24, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Arizona State vs. Hawaii
Leave your defense at home boys. This game has a history of cranking out the greatest offensive numbers of the bowl season. The question is, which Arizona State team will show up...the one who got blasted by Cal, or the one who blasted Arizona?
Prediction: Hawaii- 38, ASU- 34

Motor City Bowl
December 26, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Central Michigan vs. Middle Tennessee
If there ever was a snoozer of a bowl game, this is it!
Prediction: MTSU- 23, CMU- 20

Emerald Bowl
December 27, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Florida State vs. UCLA
Sometimes, you can see the intersection when one star is falling and the other is rising. Here's one such intersection.
Prediction: UCLA- 21, FSU- 17

Independence Bowl
December 27, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Oklahoma State vs. Alabama
Someone's bowl season is about to be a LOSING season.
Prediction: Bama- 20, Aggy- 9

Holiday Bowl
December 28, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: California vs. Texas A&M
This bowl is usually relegated to whatever Pac 10 team bitches about being shut out of the BCS. However, as there was no team to fill that spot, they had to pick the next most overrated Pac 10 team behind USC to fill the spot. aTm, meanwhile, is a few plays away from being 11-1...or a few plays from being 7-5.
Prediction: Aggie- 30, Cal- 24

Texas Bowl
December 28, 2006, NFL Network
Bowl Matchup: Kansas State vs. Rutgers
This one actually intrigues me for the matchup. Both teams are so schizo, I'm actually interested in it. Too bad for the Rutgers fans who can't see this game cause the channel it airs on isn't available in Jersey.
Prediction: KSU- 21, Rutgers- 20, Rutgers fans- ****ed!

Champs Sports Bowl
December 29, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Purdue vs. Maryland
Maryland's got the D, but will the O show up?
Prediction: Maryland- 35, Purdon't- 24

Music City Bowl
December 29, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Kentucky vs. Clemson
Holy crap...Kentucky made a bowl! Enjoy it, cause this may be the last bowl you see for awhile.
Prediction: Clemson- 45, Kentucky- 21

Sun Bowl
December 29, 2006, CBS
Bowl Matchup: Missouri vs. Oregon State
Gary Pinkel cashed in all the goodwill he earned by going 6-0 to start the season by losing the majority of his last 6 games. Oregon did the nation a huge favor by exposing the overrated USC.
Prediction: Oregon State- 31, Mizzou- 24

Insight Bowl
December 29, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Minnesota vs. Texas Tech
How did Glen Mason manage to get the Gophers bowl eligible? I'll still be thinking that as the pirates repeatedly plunder his defense.
Prediction: Texas Tech- 49, Minnesota- 17

Liberty Bowl
December 29, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Houston vs. South Carolina
Houston definitely has the offense to hang with South Carolina, but there are still glaring holes in the D.
Prediction: Cocks- 33, Houston- 21

Alamo Bowl
December 30, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Texas vs. Iowa
Bwa ha ha ha ha ha! Thanks Texas. Just when the national media was kissing Bevo's ***, you go and remind them that last year was indeed a fluke. We'll send you a postcard from Glendale.
Prediction: Texas- 30, Iowa- 21

MPC Computers Bowl
December 30, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Nevada vs. Miami
Overrated team #1 vs. Overrated team #2.
Prediction: Miami- 31, Nevada- 10

Meineke Car Care Bowl
December 30, 2006, ESPN2
Bowl Matchup: Boston College vs. Navy
BC's bowl game winning streak comes to an end this year.
Prediction: Navy- 21, BC- 17

Chick-fil-A Bowl
December 30, 2006, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Virginia Tech vs. Georgia
Both teams managed to salvage what was fast becoming dismal seasons. However I still have questions about Georgia's offense.
Prediction: VaTech- 17, Georgia- 14

Gator Bowl
January 1, 2007, CBS
Bowl Matchup: Georgia Tech vs. West Virginia
Fear not Yellow Jacket fans, the Reggie Ball era is coming to an end. Too bad he has to get smacked around one last time.
Prediction: West Virginia- 38, Georgia Tech- 28

Cotton Bowl
January 1, 2007, Fox
Bowl Matchup: Nebraska vs. Auburn
Bill Callihan apoligized to everyone but Herbie Husker this week for his performance in the Big XII title game. Meanwhile, Tommy Tuberville is still bitching about the BCS and the fact that they beat LSU and should be in the Sugar Bowl instead of them.
Prediction: Nebraska- 19, Auburn- 14

Outback Bowl
January 1, 2007, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Penn State vs. Tennessee
This one interests me as to who will drop dead on the field first, Fulmer from a heart attack, or Paterno from old age.
Prediction: Tennessee- 24, Penn State- 16

Capital One Bowl
January 1, 2007, ABC
Bowl Matchup: Arkansas vs. Wisconsin
Wisconsin can bitch all they want about not being in a BCS bowl, when your sole decent win the entire year is against Penn State and you miss playing Ohio State, you are right where you belong.
Prediction: Arkiepiggies- 28, Wisky- 24

International Bowl
January 6, 2007, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Western Michigan vs. Cincinnati
What a better way to start the first bowl game outside the US...with two teams no one cares about. ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
Prediction: Cincinnati- 20, Western Michigan- 17

GMAC Bowl
January 7, 2007, ESPN
Bowl Matchup: Southern Miss vs. Ohio
Save the worst for last...
Prediction: Ohio- 14, Southern Miss- 10

BCS GAMES

Rose Bowl
January 1, 2007, ABC
Bowl Matchup: Michigan vs. USC
Two teams...both ****ed off...both losing their last game...both will be ranked in the top 5 next August.
Prediction: Michigan- 30, USC- 28

Fiesta Bowl
January 1, 2007, Fox
Bowl Matchup: Oklahoma vs. Boise State
Y'all know just how much we've had to endure as Sooner fans this season. Y'all know that I feel we should be held in consideration for the later game in Glendale, but all of it is meaningless unless we win. Boise State will come jacked up to play after hearing for a month that they've beaten nobody. While that is true, they're still a damn good team. This game is gonna be closer than most expect.
Prediction: OU- 31, Smurfs- 27

Orange Bowl
January 2, 2007, Fox
Bowl Matchup: Wake Forest vs. Louisville
Raise your hand if you even thought Wake Forest would be in a BCS game at the beginning of the season. Yah, me too. After seeing that baseball game of an ACC Championship Game, I'm wondering if they can hang with L'ville. But something tells me that they still have the "us against the world" attitude. Look for a nailbiter.
Prediction: Wake- 17, Louisville- 16

Sugar Bowl
January 3, 2007, Fox
Bowl Matchup: Notre Dame vs. LSU
Hating both teams...but I've gotta go with the non-fraud.
Prediction: LSU- 28, Leprechauns- 20

BCS Championship Game
January 8, 2007, Fox
Bowl Matchup: Ohio State vs. Florida
Well, here we go. Frankly, I would have preferred a rematch with Michigan, but I understand the pollster's thinking. It's no secret that I loathe Ohio State (and it's a long story why), but I question whether or not Chris Leak can crank out enough offense to counter tOSU's offensive onslaught.
Prediction: Ohio State- 31, Florida- 20 (I think I'll go throw up now)

Not bad, but I must disagree strongly with your pick in the papajohns.com bowl. USF is better than people give them credit for. They lost to Rutgers by two and beat West Virginia. They can play and no C-USA trash will be able to outplay them.

If last year was a fluke you have no excuse for getting slammed in Dallas. Oh, wait. Sorry. I did read all of your excuses after the game.

See ya next year.

Well aren't you an eager beaver, OUSoonerinSanDiego, going to 5 bowl games.

Well, living 20 minutes from the Murph, AKA Quallcomm, AKA the "Q", it is easy to go to those. We got passes a couple years ago for the Holiday and last year for the Poinsettia so we will always have the same seats.

Figured since we are going to be in the Phoenix area anyways for the Fiesta, might as well buy passes for the Insight if ever a team I liked played there.

Beside OU, I always have had a soft spot for MIZZOU. If I didnt go to LMU, I would have gone to MU. Since I can fly from SD to PHX to ELP to PHX and see both games on the 29th, and since MU is in the SUN Bowl, I bought that game as well.

I guess Southwest will be owing me another free trip after this month. :D

See ya next year.

And yes, we sure will see you next year. Ill just leave it at that.

There is no excuse for our last two games, no matter what anyone else might try to claim. None.

But I am concerned about Iowa. Colt has not been cleared yet and if he is not healed the starter will be Matt McCoy, a senior walk-on with Quan Cosby (WR) trained as an emergency relief. They will not take the redshirt off of Harris. If that is the case the defense better show up.

I agree. You ended the season as the best team in the Big 12. Proved it in KC. And with no scholarship QB available maybe San Antonio is a good place for us, as much as I hate to say it.

To tell you the truth, i think you guys will easily beat Iowa, no matter who your QB is. Your recievers will find some way to get the ball into their hands, especially Sweed.

Look out next year for us.... we are gonna be soooo freaking bad! And, eh hum **DRUM ROLL PLEASE**, I will admit, whenever you guys are playing (as long as you are not playing against us or we need you to choke for Big 12 rankings), then I do root for your team (while throwing up a little bit in my mouth). The better you guys do, the better it makes the conference look, and the more it helps our rankings. Will be pulling for you guys against Iowa....

Not really. Southwest lands 80 minutes before kickoff for the Sun Bowl and the stadium is only 7 miles away. I will leave ELP at 5:40 and arrive in PHX at 6:55. 15 minutes to get to SDS so I will miss at the most the first half but I think less. More like a quarter and a half. I travel so much during football season between the Sooner and Seahawks games both home and away, I got it wired.

I hope no Sooner fan would sink so low as to chant "Overrated" at the Fiesta Bowl. This is a big game for the team and fans from Idaho; they are on their way to building a tradition. Oklahoma University Football is a dynasty, a legend already. For us not to show grace, dignity - for us not to "act like we've been there before", win or lose in any game - is a slap in the face of that legend. By acting so poorly, we'd be little better than...well, you know...

With the horrid behavior of a few Boise State and Sooner fans, there's already bad blood between some. Let's take this opportunity to welcome their fans into the big leagues and show them how we do things right as the Sooner Nation. Coach Stoops and Troops will TCOB on the scoreboard. It's up to us to TCOB in the stands.

Sorry about the mom-lecture. I know, those who agree will act well regardless - those who think I'm full of it will do their own thing too. It's all good.
