Koontz offering, Brother Odd? I haven't read any of them yet, but I'm considering as I like Koontz.

The new King book Lisey's Story looks interesting also.

Good thing Hairy hasn't yet invented a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet.

I read Lisey's Story mostly on the john this weekend.

It's a decent read. King is pretty impressed with his linguistic gymnastics, and it shows in this one. Some good turns of phrase, though. Getting a little tired of the recurring "I'm a writer and fans are nuts" theme.

I liked Odd Thomas a lot and I have Forever Odd on my night stand right now, I intend to start it tonight. So, I will definitely read Brother Odd eventually.

I finished Lisey's Story a couple weeks ago. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Kind of hard for me to put down at times. I'm a King fan anyway so I'm biased, I always like all of his books.

I was getting ready for work this morning and realized that I was thinking "that's the bad gunky" to myself about something or other. :)

Strangely enough, when I was getting dressed I was thinking "There's my long boy."

He sometimes does the "I'm a writer and I'm nuts" theme, just to break it up.

Well,

He works that one in this book as well. In fact, this book is pretty much I'm a writer, I'm nuts, and here's my wife-her and her family are nuts too. And so are fans.

One of these days I really think we're going to be treated to a lead story on the national news where Stephen King went bonkers and killed a mall full of people or something. Then we're going to all stand around saying "How did we not see this coming?"

No, I'm pretty sure he said he was playing with his long boy... in so many words.

He also does the parallel world thing a lot too. He's got several books where people are flipping around all the time.

I just finished the 2nd book in the Odd Thomas series. IMO, you should read the first two before you read Brother Odd. Stuff from the first one is mentioned several times in the 2nd one. And the reason for the title of #3 is clear at the end of the 2nd.

I enjoyed both books and if you're a Koontz fan, you'll probably like them too.
