Has anyone used Priceline to buy their airline tickets?

Thinking about going this route. Any feedback from anyone who went this route or has done so in the past? Flying from DFW.

I did it before on a family vacation in 2005 between Tulsa and San Diego.

I saved about 30% over what the air fare would have been.

Some draw backs that I am aware of (assuming you go the route that does not let you pick your flight):

1. Your flights will be either real early or real late on the day of travel;

2. You may have a longer lay over somewhere;

3. Your seats may not be together.

These issues were no big deal to me, but drove my wife crazy. We ended up just shuffling seats with other people so the 16, 11 and 7 year old would be near Mom.

I am not sure whether your will encounter these type of issues given the distance involved.
