Perhaps a backlash brewing from all the hawt teachers molesting children? Hmm?

BELLMEAD- A four-year-old hugged his teachers aide and was put into in-school suspension, according to the father. But La Vega school administrators have a different story.

Damarcus Blackwell's four-year-old son was lining-up to get on the bus after school last month, when he was accused of rubbing his face in the chest of a female employee. :D

The prinicipal of La Vega Primary School sent a letter to the Blackwells that said the pre-kindergartener demonstrated "inappropriate physical behavior interpreted as sexual contact and/or sexual harassment."

Blackwell says it's ridiculous that the aide would misread a hug from a four-year-old. Blackwell wrote to administrators demanding that the whole incident be expunged from his son's academic file because his son is too young to know what it means to act sexually.

David Davis, the executive director of the Advocacy Center in Waco tends to agree with Blackwell. He says assuming the boy has not had sexual encounters, or been inappropriately exposed to pornography, most four-year-olds are sexually innocent.

Blackwell got a response from the La Vega administration. The sexual references on the discipline referral were removed. But the thing that makes Blackwell most upset is they told him "your request for an apology by the aide and removal of all paperwork regarding this incident is denied." Now the young student's permanent file will refer to the incident as "inappropriate physical contact." And Blackwell says he will continue to fight the district.

La Vega I.S.D. administrators told News Channel 25 they couldn't comment on this case because of student privacy issues.

What a twit. What'd she expect from a 4 year-old? A handshake?

School is not like it used to be, Homey. Honestly, the incident was probably reported in a CYA effort.
I still hug my students - but I always make sure I'm in full view of other staff or in a public location such as a hall.
We have some kids who hit and bit the staff daily. Break the skin, leave huge bruises, cause sore muscles. DAILY. A staff member would be fired and sued. The staff just has to take it. I have mixed feeling about it.

I hear ya, and honestly empathize with your situation. But, in this case, if a four year old hugs someone, I refuse to believe there was any evile intent. Frankly, I've never known a four y/o who had any interest in secks whatsoever, beyond perhaps simple curiosity about the differences between genders.

Anyhoo, I think when the dad weighed-in, the school should have admitted, "Yes, you are correct. We overreacted. Under the circumstances, little Demarcus had no intent to 'inapropriately touch' nor should the teacher, who was NOT harmed, have been offended by his act."

I believe this is true since generally, little kids can't "assault" or "batter" anyone because they are either incapable of forming intent (an element of the crime of "assault") or that no reasonable person could possibly find such conduct by a four year old child "offensive" (an element of the civil cause of action for "battery".) IMHO, the school should have backed down. Period.

I wonder if this has happened more than once. A child who has been sexually molested does inappropriate touching with others, including other children. maybe it happened several times before, the parents were talked to, told them what actions would have to happen the next time the touching occurred. If the child has been warned repeatedly, then what action do you think the school should take?

I've had a four year old call me every foul name in the book. Grabbing his crotch and telling me to eat it...

So, did the school call DHS and report the suspected abuse? If there is a reasonable suspicion of abuse, that's their flippin' job. Otherwise, they need to shut the h-e-double-hockey-sticks up. just my opinion mind you.

yeah, I think we're not getting all of the story here. if it was a simple hug, no one would have a problem with it. usually with the media, if something seems ridiculous, they're leaving something out to make it more dramatic.

and I have seen some ****ing terrible four year olds.

The Red Ranger is always groping the Pink Ranger.
