Naval Academy athletic director Chet Gladchuk announced this morning that he has reached an agreement with head football coach Paul Johnson on a revised contract.
Specific financial terms of the contract were not released, but sources told The Capital Johnson will receive a substantial salary boost along with additional incentives. No years were added to the six-year contract, which includes an automatic one-year rollover clause and ties Johnson to Navy through 2012.
However, sources said Gladchuk has included an incentive clause in the contract that would reward Johnson with a hefty bonus if he remains Navy's head coach through 2016.
