Good for him. I'm sure UT is disappointed.

This still leaves UT without a legit HC, OC and DC for next year.

Hopefullt Mack loses gets his staff drained like we did soon. I know of a guy coaching defense at Nebraska who would be a good DL fit at UT... :D Don't the whorns like borrowing Sooners to coach them???

UT's DC position has been a revolving door for the last 10 years,

WTH doesn't Bama go after Leach?
He'd be two tons of fun down there.

hmm...
If we had an atrocious regime and fired our HC...I certainly wouldn't want our next HC to be someone from within that same atrocious regime.
Maybe Shannon will bring The U back (he played there) to where it was, but it doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense....especially after they conducted a national search.
We'll find out soon enough for ourselves when Shannon and the Canes come to Norman.

I just thought the whole Cane program needed a fresh new leader to come in and give it a swift kick in the ***...
That could be a lot harder to accomplish for a guy who's already entrenched in the program.

I think Leach is too untraditional for TRADITION-RICH Bama. It may be why he's stuck in Lubbock...

i don't know, there's a kind of weird double iconoclasm fit with Leach at Tech. who i'd like more if their fans weren't so ****ed up. they need a hug or something.
I think this is a great hire for Miami. In fact, this is who I felt Alabama should have gone after.

They fired a coach who won a NC and played for one in the last 4 years for this guy?
If I were a cane fan, if they even have such a thing, then I would be ****ed.
By all accounts, Shannon is a pretty good defensive coach and a great recruiter. I did NOT want to see him land at Texas, so I'm happy with the hire....I couldn't care less how he does at The You.
