The 2005 season is the only year that conferences have had "a rematch" in the title game. Every other year it's been two conferences who haven't played against each other in the title game.

This means that we'll probably be playing Michigan next year for the championship.

yep.

all the Big East appearances are now ACC teams.

Isn't that how it's listed?

I think it's funny/weird that the Big East and the ACC, the conferences widely regarded as the weakest BCS conferences, each have more national title appearances than the Big 10, Pac-10 and SEC (although the SEC will pull into a tie with them this year).

Maybe it's not so weird if you consider that it's probably easier to make it through the Big East and ACC than the others.
