According to some KC Star articles he and Osborne were suppose to be there, here is the article about that.
KC Star - Osborne cannot just fade into background (http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/sports/16135946.htm)

There was also an article last week in the KC Star about his retirement.
KC Star - Retirement seems to suit Switzer fine (http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/sports/16135945.htm)

I listened to him tonight on the animal... He said he had a his plane ticket and was ready to go, but came down with a bad head cold (probably due to flying back and forth to NY etc)...

Said he was supposed to have an interview with Osborne and that abc called him about the interview, and he told them they better get a camera to his house if they wanted him in on it...

I also heard that they hire him that 'Bama will announce that they have won two more national championships this year. One for firing Shula, and another for hiring Barry Switzer.

Wait.....no. That can't be right. They would have to....ummmm....dang. Let's see if you carry the one.....no, not that......and multiple by........ dang. I'm confused, I get stuck in all these calculus equations of how to calculate when they win a title. Can someone help me?

It's really not all that complicated.

1. Pick any interval of time from the last time they've claimed a National Championship. Preferably, this interval is not more than one year, and not less than 5 picoseconds.
2. At the end of that interval, verify that the University of Alabama still has a football program.
3. If it does award championship.
4. If it doesn't, the world has ended. You won't care about awarding a championship at this point.

Okay, that makes much more sense than the "How many breaths are in a day....divided by pi, drop the remainder and carry the decimal by 2 and then take the aggregate totals of hours worked by John Blake in the men's room this year (i think 47,888 is right) add them together and multiply by 3."

Vaevictis, Thanks to you my friend I can see clearly now. I thought all along it had something to do with winning football games. Looks like I was wrong. Whew!
