If you are a 5th year senior on the OU football squad you have been to EVERY BCS BOWL:

2002: Rose Bowl
2003: Sugar Bowl
2004: Orange Bowl
2005: Holiday Bowl
2006: Fiesta Bowl

Outstanding track record!!!!!

8 guys including the 2 highest rated high school kids - latimer and carter.

one other interesting note is that all of our seniors are redshirts.

Arguable, because OU beat both Auburn and Penn St. in the Sugar during the 70's before it was a BCS bowl.

still, do you consider pre-BCS Big 4 bowl victories to be BCS bowl victories?

If my fading memory serves we also own a Sugar Bowl victory over LSU to the tune of 35-0. (1949?)

Verified that, and we beat North Carolina in the Sugar the year before. So we actually have a pretty decent Sugar Bowl history. Anyway... make it easy on yourselves when researching all things Sooners: www.soonerstats.com

I was at the Sugah in 71? 72? When we beat auburn.

As a side note: I noticed years later that among the players' autographs I had gotten after the game was one Garry Gibbs.

No since they weren't BCS Bowls until the BCS.

I think we are the only team to have participated in all 4 BCS bowls (as BCS bowls). That's pretty cool.

Yep...beat Michigan in the 70's.

We beat North Carolina in the Sugar Bowl in 1948 I believe. DKR played for OU at the time as did Buddy Burris plus many other great Sooners. Charlie Choo-Choo Jusitce was the big star running back for NC.
