i've never played it (i'm still hooked on call of duty). it's supposed to be cool.

Gears of War set the bar high, though.

Except both those games are high-def and look movie-quality. those are crappy low-resolution copies of the trailers.
Just yesterday I saw Gears of War played on a 50-inch big screen and it was unbelievable.
