I've come up with a BCS Playoff system that tries to make most (not all) sides involved happy. Below is a link to a hypothetical bracket based on today's BCS rankings. Look at it and give me the pros and cons of a system like this...

It would never work. You've got wake forrest ahead of rutgers.

The seeds I used are the ones from today's BCS and Wake Forest is ranked above Rutgers there.

i dont think more than 8 teams would be in a playoff either.

Yeah, 16 is ludicrous. D1A isn't as watered down as the other divisions and needing that many suitors.

Not that I'm opposed to only having 8, but why not 16?

BCS 8-team Playoff


Formula:

Take the six highest ranked conference champions:

Big 10 – Ohio State (BCS #1)
SEC – Florida (BCS #2)
Pacific 10 – USC (BCS #5)
Big East – Louisville (BCS #6)
WAC – Boise State (BCS #8)
Big 12 – OU (BCS #10)

Plus the two highest ranked at-large teams:

Michigan (BCS #3)
LSU (BCS #4)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1st Round:

Ohio State #1 hosts OU #8

Florida #2 hosts Boise State #7

Michigan #3 hosts Louisville #6

LSU #4 hosts USC #5


2nd Round:

Highest rank hosts lowest rank
Second highest hosts third lowest

Winners play in the Championship Game
