I put this in another thread but it's more fitting here.

Remember in '02 when the Orange Bowl used some sort of option that allowed them to pick their teams first despite the normal selection process because they provide the most money to the BCS and that ultimately led to OU going to the Rose Bowl? That was something they could do only a limited number of times but I don't remember what the limitation was or if that rule is still in effect. Does anyone know about the status of that rule and whether that is an option to one of the Bowls this year.

I can't imagine that the Oragne Bowl is licking their chops at a Wake Forrest vs Louisville matchup.

That's what i thought i heard. Fox usually brings good production to sports leagues they pick up but they also usually go get the best announcers to cover the games. I haven't heard of any of the standard pbp and/or color guys from the other networks who are moving over to Fox for their cfb coverage. Hence, these clowns we see here.

I'd argue the USC / Rose Bowl angle, but that's "traditional" - although I honetsly think they should put USC/Michigan in the Sugar Bowl and LSU/ND in the Rose Bowl. Make them honest neutral sites.

That's the problem with this. It's david vs goliath. If we win, it won't be by enough. And if we lose, god help us, we'll never hear the end of it. Everyone will want to see the little guy win because they are the underdog. Plus its gonna be hard for our guys to stay motivated for this one. I don't like saying it but I think it's true.
