Hearing lots of negative things about Husker fans, etc. over here.

OK, fine.

I just want to congratulate the Sooners again on an outstanding victory.

Nebraska had several chances to win and couldn't get it done. Yes, it's a testament to the Sooner D and great coaching.

Nebraska lost to a better team. Once again, from a true Husker fan (from Omaha, no less), great job Sooners, and take care of business against Boise.

Sorry to hear about cold, drunk 'fans.' Combine some bad years with cold weather, a loss and alcohol....I guess that's a recipe for disaster. At least we still show up, I guess.

It bothers me to keep reading harsh insults pointed in our direction, however. Such is life.....

But I saw respect on the field. That's where it matter most.

I hate "bad fan" threads. If you're going to be a weenie stay home. Sure, I've probably complained about places like K-State, but there's plenty of good folks at all venues. Don't worry about it BRT.

At least your guys didn't start throwing punches when they saw that had no hope of winning. Beat whomever the SEC gives ya, I am sick and tired of hearing about how much better the SEC is!

It's okay, Husker fan. Chill, man. Losses are rough, from are non-loss losses (orgeron), or non-win losses(stupid whorns...). Eventually the Big 12 will grow smart and let us play every year (neutral location in KC, anyone?), the NCAA will go smarter and start a playoff system (Round One: Boise State versus OU, better games rounds 2-3), and fans will grow smartest and realize that rivalries only happen when there's another team to tangle with.

Hooray for rivalries, boo for the Big 12, and bigger booze to the NCAA... we were lucky to meet this year, and it should happen more often. We should meet teams like you in regular season battles or bowl games, and leave Boise State-like teams for the pre-conference season. But... at least we got Saturday.

At least we got Saturday.

I still respect the tradition & fans of Neb. I just dont care much for your coach.
It was a great game between two good football teams.
Thanks for the post.

It always drives me nuts to see people complaining about their fans acting exactly like our fans do.

Does Nebraska have some ignorant a-holes that roll out to games? Sure.

Do we? Absolutely.

Does either team have nearly as many as, say, KSU or CU? Not even close.

People have to realize that an unfortunate part of going to an away or neutral-site game is that you're going to run into people who root for the other team and some of them are a-holes.

the folks in my secion were cool. I think it was just the younger drunk crowd that was being arseholes.

Funny thing is in 2000 the K-State fans in Manhattan were not the same drunk, cussing, obnoxious fans that showed up in KC. I think when a fan base gets away from its home stadium the inhibitions come off. That and the booze.

Don't sweat it man. For the most part Nebraska fans have a good rep around the Big 12. There's always going to be some younger fans that are idiots, but that goes for every school. I've never had a problem with NU fans in my experience. I can't say the same for a lot of other Big 12 schools.

Really? I thought they were identical both times.

True, unless you play games in Colombus, OH or Morgantown, WV.

every husker fan we encountered after the game congratulated us and said good luck, several I talked to were mad at Callahan

I think the odds of pricks being in a crowd of 80,000 are probably pretty good

As a whole, Nebraska is right up there with the best fans anywhere. Probably alot of alcohol talking last night.

Good luck to the corn in their bowl.

Heh. right down to the guy next to me yelling "how do you like it now! How do you like it now!" And I just kept telling him "you're down by 10, I love it!"

ya, we do have some pretty bad fans. No one gets liquored up and cusses out children quite like we do... sigh.

This just in...

Any large fanbase is going to have it's share of assclowns.

Lord knows we certainly do.

I just know that Veritas and Royalfan represent their team in a classy manner.

And that's good enough for me.

All of the Bugeaters my son and I came into contact with were fine, if misguided, folks. Lots of families. They took their beating like sports and went home without incident.

The only assclown we saw was (surprise) a whorn who had made it to the game. He didn't get to see the 2nd half. :)

Dude was wearing a burt orange cap. He was at the concession stand outside of section 117, raising a ruckus. I thought he was the reason it was taking me 1/2 hour to get my damn 2 hot chocolates. Unfortunately, even after security escorted his drunk loser *** out of the stadium, we continued to have abysmal service. I missed all of halftime and about 5 minutes off of the clock in the 3d quarter.

I don't know what was on TV.
