Wisconsin at #5. Give me a freaking break!

Every year the pollsters get more & more out of touch with what's going on. And why wouldn't they; we 've got this perfectly idiotic system in place to crown a champion. It's just dumb

USC should not be ahead of us. TGOWWDNS has nothing to do with this season.

Polls are now becoming "the most popular contest" - too bad for College Football...

Lets just put usc and ND in the top ten every year regardless of their record -and Save all that time of people voting.....JMHO.....

fadada1
12/3/2006, 01:59 PM
WTF with usc????

seriously.

they lost to 2 very average teams that haven't sniffed the top 25 all year.

Octavian
12/3/2006, 02:01 PM
USC just scored 9 points against an unranked team...impressive.

Add that to their loss to the Fighting Beavers and that's definetely worthy of being ahead of a team whose won 8 straight.

I mean, c'mon, people...they beat mighty Cal and a ferocious Notre Dame team

I have to pile on regarding Wisconsin.

Are they ahead of us because they only have one loss??? Why are they even in the top 10?

Speaking of which:

HOW MANY UNRANKED TEAMS DOES USC HAVE TO LOSE TO BEFORE THEY ARE NOT A TOP 10 TEAM???????????

argh

I don't really have a problem with it. We have won 11 games. It's quite impressive from the standpoint that we overcame so much adversity to win those games. I just don't think the voters know how to reward that. In addition, we benefitted from UT's demise but it has probably hurt us because it has left the voters with the impression that the Big XII is weak even though the conference has 9 bowl eligible teams.

I know we all hate SUC but they are probably better than OU today. They have fallen victim to Pete Caroll's arrogance.

We win the Fiesta and we have a very good chance to finish in the top 5.

There is no way the loser of the OU-UT game is going to make it to the BCS championship game because the only way the loser can surpass the winner of that game is for the winner to pull a 2006 UT finish and that hurts the team that lost the RRS, ala this season.

I tend to agree. Now, if the Oregon debacle still occurred and OU had beaten Texas, there's a good possibility at being in the BCS title game. But you never know.

Why is LSU at number 4 with 2 losses? I've seen them a couple of times and they strike me as an average team at best; hell they didn't even make it to their conference championship game

You have to be kidding!!!
4. LSU
5. Wisconsin
6. Louisville
7. USC
Are ranked higher than OU... USC lost to two very unranked teams... and late in the year. If OU lost to Baylor last game of year OU would be sitting at about 15... damn I hate rankings that really dont look at the big picture!

Pepper

3 Big 10 teams ahead of Big 12 champs? Wisconsin, Louisville seriously would beat OU if they played? And USC, I guess they are just not penalized like most other teams are when they lose. Can we get John Stossel to do a piece on this? His "give me a break" line seems appropriate here. OU should be #4 or 5.
