#4 - Paul Thompson and Allen Patrick — Rhett Bomar and Adrian Peterson were supposed to lead the Sooners back to the BCS championship game in '06. Bomar didn't take a snap all season (you know the story there), and Peterson hasn't played since October (collarbone injury). So how are the Sooners gearing up for a Big 12 Title game and a likely BCS berth? Look no further than the steady play of quarterback Paul Thompson and the breakout year (or, half a year) running back Allen Patrick is having. The Sooners haven't lost since Oct. 7th, and if not for a certain call in a certain game that a certain journalist chooses to certainly not mention — OU could very well be in the BCS championship game discussion today.
JMHO --- I think we are number 1 pleasant surprise.....!!
