2006-07 ACHA Division 1 Ranking #5

West Bloomfield, MI - The University of Illinois suffered its first loss of the season on the road at Kent State, but still managed to hang onto the top spot in Ranking #5 of the 2006-07 season, getting 21 of a possible 37 first-place votes. Oklahoma received 12 first-place votes and moved up to the #2 spot, remaining the only undeated team in Division 1 [17-0-0]. Penn State used an impressive road-sweep over Rhode Island to garner the remaining 4 first-place votes and move up to the #3 position. Liberty, Delaware, Western Michigan, and Kent State all moved up two spots from the previous ranking.

The sixth ranking of the regular season will be released on Friday, December 15.

This years ACHA Division 1 National Championships will be hosted by Kent State University and take place February 28-March 4, 2007 at the Ice Zone in Youngstown, OH. Sixteen teams will qualify for the tournament.
