SETTING THE STAGE: Oklahoma and Missouri State meet for the first of two games this weekend…Tonight’s game will be the eleventh time that the two teams have played each other…The Sooners are 10-0-0 all-time against Missouri State (f/k/a Southwest Missouri State)…Oklahoma is now ranked 2nd in the most recent ACHA D1 Coaches Rankings released earlier today…Missouri State is ranked 8th in the ACHA D2 Central Region rankings.

OKLAHOMA NOTES: Sooners forward Adrian Borchgrevink continues to lead the Sooners in goals with 14 and total points with 25…OU forward Doug Gebbie is second on the team in goals with 12…Gebbie (12-12-24) and forward Owen Brewer (6-16-22) are respectively second and third on the team in terms of points…Oklahoma goaltender Aaron Schmeilski has a record of 9-0-0 with a 1.52 GAA and a .952 save percentage…Dating back to March 3rd of this year, the Sooners have now won their last 18 games…When the Sooners score first in a game, it’s a good sign as OU has an all-time record of 67-8-2…The Oklahoma power play this season has scored 53 goals in 195 chances for a 27.17% success rate…The Sooners penalty kill is equally as impressive, allowing only 9 goals in 157 opportunities for a 94.27% kill rate…Oklahoma is 37-12-3 all-time in games played on Fridays and 25-6-1 in Friday games played at the Blazers Ice Centre.

MISSOURI STATE NOTES: Missouri State is a member of the Mid-America Collegiate Hockey Association…Coach Benjamin Alexander, one of the best dressed coaches in ACHA hockey, is known for his penchant for bow ties…The Ice Bears last played two weeks ago, losing a pair of games at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville by scores of 3-1 and 10-7…The Ice Bears started off the 06-07 campaign by stunning D1 powerhouse Lindenwood on the road with a 6-2 win…However, since then, the Ice Bears have played three more games against D1 opponents, losing all three…MSU is led in scoring by junior forward Dan Odenwald, who has fourteen goals and fourteen assists for a total of 28 points…Odenwald is followed by senior forward Andy Hellwig (6-15-21), freshman forward Paul Saitta (6-12-18) and sophomore forward Andy Whitener (11-4-15)…Senior goaltender Kevin Rekowski (3.12 GAA) and junior goaltender Michael Brown (3.29 GAA) split the netminding duties for the Ice Bears.
