Advice for those going to KC:

But don't act like you have to get to KC first.

Be careful

Cheer loud

Come home with another Big 12 Championship

Don't forget your handsfree device for your cell phone.

Some kitty litter would be a good idea in case you get stuck, so put some kitty litter in the trunk.

Cameras would be good, I wanna see a lot of pics, don't forget you cameras and fresh batteries!

Gloves and ear muffs wouldn't hurt. Those Hotsies for your pinkies and tootsies come in real handy. :P

You can get them anywhere outdoor supplies are sold. A pair only cost a buck or so, and last 6 to 10 hours. Take a couple of extras to share. :)

tips for driving:
1-SLOW
2-SHOVEL
3-SEATBELT.

Drive slow, take along a shovel (in case you get stuck) and always wear your seltbelt. Have fun this weekend.

Kitty litter for traction

gravel also works, but kitty litter is probably easier to find with all this snow around :D

And, remember, the key to driving on ice is to drive FAST!!

If you get going fast enough (anywhere over 110 or so), your tires heat up so much they'll melt the ice right off!

Oh -- and you might want to close your eyes. Keeping them closed can help prevent over-correction, which is deadly on a slick surface. Really, you shouldn't steer at all if you can help it.

if you go even a little bit faster, you don't even really touch the ice, henceforth removing traction from the equation.

agreed regarding eyes closed and whatnot. overcorrection is a b1tch.

For those frugal types, it's usually best to avoid the used kitty litter. Just this once, spring for a new bag.

And please, don't stop and pick up any hitchhikers when you pass the abandoned cars in the ditch. They could be Nebraska fans.
