we offered 6 of those guys (plus rufus).

woodley came on an official and spent his time either recruiting for michigan or sitting in his hotel room watching the ohio state/michigan game. they almost sent him home early.

i don't remember if miller came on an official or not, but had ASU not already had his brother we would have gotten him (we were the bridesmaid).

blalock, sears, and woodley were 5*s dorsey might have been as well.

My dog, who is named Rufus after this fine football player, is wagging his tail.

I'm excited for him though a lot of people have been knocking him on other boards, saying he doesn't deserve it.

i'm surprised the butkus finalists didn't make it.

His pre-season hype is better than his on-field output this season. As happy as I am for Rufus and our team, I agree with some others that he did not deserve it this year.

Yeah, Patrick Willis from Ole Miss should be on there at the very least at LB. I think he's the best of the Butkus candidates.

And where is Mario Manningham and/or Dwayne Jarret at WR?

Who teh hellcrap is Justin Medlock and why is he PK instead of Hartley?

i'd consider rufus more of a "lifetime acheivment" award. over the last 3 years, he may not be first in the linebacker class but it wouldn't take long to call roll.

I dont agree at all, willis was hyped all year to be this phenom and just cus he plays at some school like texas tech that bloats their stats doesnt mean he is that great. If you remember, when Rufus started playing well earlier in the year, so did the rest of the D. He has played a great last two-thirds of the season

Granted, this is based on 2 Ole Miss games, but Willis was all over the field in the games I watched. Maybe he stunk it up in his other 10 games.

Dont get me wrong, im not saying he stunk it up or was a bum...but a couple of things, one being that ole miss is kinda like tech, remember a couple of years ago when tech had a guy lead the conf with like 160 tackles and everyone just kind of laughed it off. Also, do you deserve to be considered one of the best if the defense you play on his dredful?? Those were my only points

I hear ya. Put him on a good D and he won't be the first guy to the ball every time like he is at Ole Miss.

that was because leach was padding his stats. there was one game where after film review he was credited with 5 extra SOLO tackles.

WHO?!?

He's good. I've seen him several times. He's basically UTEP's only weapon. Guy has world class sprint speed. Fun to watch.

Surprised to not see one USC player on there. I'd put Jarrett over Johnson at WR. Actually I'd put both of them over some dude from UTEP

Pretty impressive all the accolades that RU is getting considering he was much better last year and was a huge disappointment through the first 5 weeks of the season.
