the only time I've seen it the dude who one gave the car back.

they're bracket racing, right? I'd love to see a heads up type racing show like that.

no it's heads-up, and they negotiate car lengths and conditions.

5 races, best of 5 takes the car.

this sounds like the same thing as bracket racing, you just get car lengths rather than additional time.

also, I guess you couldn't blow your time and get dq'd this way, so it's a little different, but still.

they should have a special where it's just people lining up. 1 race, heads up. winner takes all.

They have all types of cars from newer camaros to 67 Novas. Some street legal, smome not. They can request that the other guy not be able to use their nitrous or to give them a rolling start. It's pretty danged cool.

I would request that the other guy had to run the race in reverse. or that he have to slip his car into and out of neutral every 2 seconds during the race.

i really like drag racing, but to me, this show is kinda silly.

Watched this for the first time tonight. Some of these guys cry worse than my 2 year old. You signed up for a drag race, freakin race.

The best line I had from my youth:

We were sitting in Hollywood parking lot loitering & drinkin' beer as usual when this dude in a '77-'78 Camaro rolls up gunning his engine wanting to race my little Cobra II for "pinks" (yeah, I know--Pinto with a hood scoop--it ran mid/low 13's though). I declined the offer as I had already been to Adkins Hill Road a few times that night. "What's the matter, 'fraid you'll lose?" the drunkin' hillbilly wannabe snickered.

"Nope", I exclaimed, "I'm afraid I'd have that POS in my driveway".

God I miss those days. :(
