further down on the page he talks about how OU would be in the national title conversations had the oregon game not been taken away by the refs. so, either terry eats paint chips or he just forgot to put OU in his rankings (meaning he eats paint chips, but not as many as I would have guessed). either way, this guy's a goober and we've always known it.

He also has W. Virginia with only one loss. Haven't they lost two games?

If we're talkin basketball, I think I'd have no trouble defending him.

Yep, Louisville and South Florida.

Bowden is pretty much worthless as a coach, commentator or writer.

He's on teh pipe again!

But the real question is, "Is his secretary on the pipe again?"

He caught an earful from me on South Beach the night before the national title game in 2001. Maybe he's still bitter about the obnoxious OU fan yelling at him about him and said secretary.

Notre Dame at #5? Bwahahahahaha. He's making himself look retarded, especially when you see the "12" and "10" just to the left.

Well, he has gotten really fat. Perhaps the blubber has replaced brain cells.

Oh, any time you diddle with the secretary while "happily" married with children and lose your job, you get to be ridiculed, and when said secretary is the daughter of one of the school's biggest boosters, you not only get to be ridiculed, you get to be harrassed in public!!!

Notre Dame... only lost to #2 and #3 teams in the country from the same list. And #2 team was away (although they got spanked in both games and the Michigan game was a home game....but work with me here. I'm trying my best to defend a man I completely detest as a sports figure.).

As for the West Virginia's missed loss against USF, this might not be TB's hand-written list. It was probably his secretary (the new one) that typed that up. I doubt he did it himself. Especially when he mentions later on in his column that WVU lost to USF. It's not anything like the AP writer who didn't know OU had won. He did drop them from the week before, so it shows he knew they lost. We've all had typo's. This is someone trying to make something out of nothing.

Not putting OU in the top 16....pretty much inexcusable. Other than that, he's not too far off. And it's just an opinion. It's no different, no better or worse than yours or mine.

I would argue that it much worse than you or I having an opinion on the subject. We are not going to sway anyone casting votes in the Coaches Poll or the Harris Poll.

Of course I don't know if Bowden will either but he is generally regarded as a college football "expert". We also don't know if he communicates with voters in person.

By the fact that he "might" have some influence with voters, he should at least be somewhat objective in his "opinions".

Maybe he forgot. I fill out my own poll for another forum and people are always forgetting to include some random top-15 team. It's a little harder than you'd imagine.

But this shiz should've been proofread if it was going to be a large publication.

But if his opinions are so ludicrous, does it not make him less apt to affect other voters? Is he possibly intentionally removing himself from the title of "expert" with his misplacing of OU's ranking? Perhaps, in the long run, he's attempting to do the Sooner Nation a favor by ridding his name of the aforementioned title and allowing other, more logical, pundits to have a voice. Or maybe he's just an idiot.

I seriously doubt he has the influence you think he does. It definitely doesn't affect us directly, and I doubt enough sportswriters reads his column for advice that it'd even have anything but a minute effect on us indirectly. Plus, if we win out, his and all other polls are moot: we are in the BCS regardless of where he ranks us in an unofficial poll.

But I'd say his opinions are probably more "objective" than most Sooner fans are about their own team. Heck, some are still upset that we're not getting any love for the title game (since we got screwed at Oregon).

He didn't recognize us as a top 15 team...I'd say that's bad, but I've seen worse rankings. It's just his opinion. We'll agree to disagree. No harm.

We weren't in his previous top 16 either, so he just doesn't think we're a top 16 team. As stated before, it's just his opinion and he has a right to it.

Oh well. I'm not going to let the second worst Bowden ruin my day.
