In Dallas, when the front hits, the two lead stories on the news will be...

Sand trucks are gassed up and ready to go and....

OH WHAT ABOUTTHE HOMELESS???!!! They'll station some pretty young thing in front of the largest homeless shelter, she'll put on the fake, concerned face... and will bemoan what is going to happen to those poor homeless people who don't have enough sense to come to a shelter!!!

Heh. I've noticed the same thing. I wonder what the excuse will be when they build that taxpayer-funded trillion dollar homeless shelter thing that passed last year.

The other thing to expect is dozens of accidents the moment it starts sprinkling. Man, drivers in DFW are the succ.

you didn't hear? its already over-budget and will cost 2 trillion dollars. So there will be another bond election to fund it. And they will hide it a different bond package entitled "funds for happy fun parks that include hot babes lounging on the benches"

I move from Oklahoma to North Dakota to continue grad school in meteorology. Soon after reaching the Dakotas,I see more tornadoes in South Dakota than I did in the state of OK during my 6 years at OU. Now we can't get snow worth a crap... the latest system only dropped about 1/2 inch. Meanwhile, the state of Oklahoma has the potential to get dumped on and end up with more snow than we've had all season (~1.5 in)

man, about 8 years ago I was caught in a sleet storm driving back that route. I was in my toyota cressida which is a snow driving machine!
anyway I was driving about 60 (not very smart) when I came up on a convoy cruising about 45. I pass 'em and this poor sap in an old Ford truck decides to follow. dude starts spinning in circles, slides up the underneath the side of an overpass and down into the center median! ooooops.:O
