not sure what the heck they are smoking on messner. i actually think trent williams should be there in his place. nice props to lendy, but walker has been better (they should all 3 be 2nd team).

a 2nd team player gets the nod for offensive newcomer over a 1st team player... hmm..

not putting peterson on there is irritating. the guy did in 6 games what it took others 12 games to do...

The running stats for Big XII players have been pathetic the last couple of years. Peterson sets the mark while playing half a season.. This used to be a running conference. Kinda sad. Not real sure how Savage makes 2nd team.

Heck, Patrick's the second-best RB in the league to Peterson and neither gets a mention.

Peterson only played in two Big 12 games. I think they only look at what you've done in the conference schedule when making the teams.

Malcolm Kelly not being on the first or second team is ridiculous. He may not have the numbers that others do, but I guarantee he's one of the top four receivers in the conference.

outside of savage, there isn't a single guy on that list that scares you. would you rather face those guys or one of charles, peterson, patrick or goodson.

also nice to see a legacy make 1st team as a DB

I love Rufus, but I'm not even sure he was the defensive MVP on his own team.

Is there a position voted solely on name recognition more than the OL? Or do the writers just talk to NFL scouts to see who the top OL prospects are in the conference?

Javorskie Lane 1st team? That's all you need to know about the thought putinto this list.

Besides no Peterson or Patrick, I'm shocked to see Malcolm Kelly didn't break either list.

this is just one paper's opinion. I agree with some and don't with others. and in theory they might use just B12 stats but whadya bet they look at season totals more...

Hmmm... maybe it was for all those deflected passes. That kid sure had his fingertips on a lot of balls. Of course I mean that in a manly, football player sorta way and not in the brokeback sense. NTTAWWT

Dude, he's right there at #2. Man, I thought you were better at reading than that.

;)

Patrick should have made All Big 12 ahead of Lane. Losing two games to injury didn't help him, though.

People put a lot of stuck into scoring TDs for some reason. I blame the NFL's specialized running backs and fantasy football leagues.

peterson is #2 overall in rushing for the big 12 (he missed 1/2 the games)
patrick is #2 for big 12 only games (he missed 1/4 of the games)

And given that, OU's offensive line should be first team across the board!

So it's agreed that we have the two best RBs in the conference. Too bad the KC-Star doesn't watch much football.

I honestly think Sweed, Bowman and Kelly should be first team. no way you leave Kelly out of the mix.

Sweed doesn't do it for me. He's worse than TFRW. I'll take Filani, Bowman, and Malcom and go beat any sucker in the country b/c those guys have resolve.

yeah, I've been wishy washy on Sweed but he's been big for them.

That is horrible. Crosby as 1st team kicker is just as bad as all the others already mentioned, dude missed 9 field goals this season.

yeah, but he can kick the ball like 92 yards when he's only a mile or so above sea level...
