Nobody is talking about this guy, but he's done a hell of a coaching job.
The improvement in the OL over the season has been tremendous. It's amazing to think back to August and what the expectations were for this group, and to look at how they have played down the stretch.
Any time that you have a true freshman starting at OT, and then 3 sophomores and only 1 senior (who is probably the least talented of the bunch), on the rest of the line, and you're able to go out and physically dominate people during the meat of the Big 12 schedule, that's impressive. What's even scarier is to think about the yardage that we'd have amassed in the run game if AD hadn't gotten hurt right when the OL started to come together.
Give our runningbacks credit. Patrick and Brown have been excellent considering their lack of experience, and the future looks good with those guys. But I don't think that anybody could have predicted at the beginning of the year that we would be able to run the ball this well even after AD got hurt. And Patton needs to get a ton of credit for that.
