I've always wondered just how maneuverable commercial jets really are. I mean I know they're not F-18's, but this video seems to show they can get a bit funky if they wanna. No?

Airliners and corporate jets are generally not as maneuverable as fighter aircraft but they still can put on an impressive show. The docile flying of most commercial aircraft is because of the passengers comfort. Yanking and banking likes these videos would easily get people sick that are not accustomed to this type of flying.

I have "heard from others" that the Beech Baron and Citation Encore roll reeeeeeeeeeeally nice! ;)

my father in law pilots the 777 for American. I asked him about the maneuverability once, and he commented that it could do most of what he wanted, including barrell rolls. And he also said they have done some wild things in the 777 simulator.

I got an awesome tour of the 777 once. A bad *** plane.

Like 90,000 lbs of thrust or something like that. Kabookie, are those the most powerful engines on a commercial airliner?

Whatever happened to the famed Boeing 666?

The new General Electric GE90-115B produces 115,300 lbs each engine. That’s over 230,000 lbs of thrust total for the aircraft.

Boeing 777-300. It's an option though so not all -300s have them.

I've seen Bob Hoover perform maybe 50 times at airshows with his Shrike Commander and P-51. Simply amazing.

Sorry if this is already common knowledge, but I told my pilot friend about this cool video I saw (courtesy of you guys  ), and he immediately said that the guy who was most famous for that was Bob Hoover.

"That's the guy," I said.

He's informed me that he is from Oklahoma! :D
