Let the celebration begin. For getting rid of Vandersuck and the celebrations that Martin brings. Lets hope he doesn't hurt himself again.

I am glad this happened. I'd rather have somebody missing field goals who isn't making a **** ton of money.

I think that was his brother.

I think that was his brother.

You're right.

here's his Scout profile:

Martin Gramatica has struggled with injuries and inconsistency for the better part of two seasons. Once one of the better kickers in the game, he was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 2004 season. The depth and elevation of his kicks have disappeared, some of which can be attributed to confidence issues. Unless Grammatica can prove he is healthy and regains consistency, he is no longer a viable option for a team seeking a kicker.

Hmmm....not sure I was ready to pull the trigger just yet considering who all is available. He hasn't been THAT bad.

Martin Gramatica? Okay.

I think there is more behind the scenes than we know. Parcells hates paying kickers, and especially ones that are 13/18, and only 1/4 from 40-49.

Anyone have any extra's to the Saints game? Trying to take a long time fan to his first game ever.

Cowboys release Vanderjagt

A man who was recently dubbed the most accurate kicker in NFL history is now unemployed.

Sources have told FOXSports.com that the Dallas Cowboys have cut kicker Mike Vanderjagt and will sign Martin Gramatica.

Vanderjagt has been very inconsistent this year, and an inconsistent kicker and Bill Parcells are like oil and water.

With the Colts, Vanderjagt was nearly automatic but suffered interpersonal problems after he ripped Peyton Manning on TV only to have Manning fire back and call him "liquored-up idiot kicker."

nice one Peyton.

Don't get to excited about Gramatica... he's only holding the spot warm for Hartley. :)

I know Dramatica isn't the kicker he was three years ago.

Like Bob Sturm on the Ticket said, you've essentially cured yourself of the Measles by giving yourself the Mumps.

bad news !!!

TO is unhappy cause they cut vanderwhomever !!!!!!!!!!

they forgot to check with TO.

colleyvillesooner
11/30/2006, 12:21 PM
Yeah, but lost in his quote is the end where he says if anyone lost a game, it was him.

This was not a big deal, what TO said. If it was Terry Gelnn, it wouldn't have made the paper. He just said what a lot of people were thinking.

"I don't see what he did wrong to warrant him being cut," Owens said Wednesday. "I hope it doesn't come back to haunt us. Whoever made that decision, I'm pretty sure they're hoping the same thing."

"Going into the Colts game, the guy was 12-of-15. That's still a high kicking percentage," Owens said. "He didn't lose any games for us. If I had to put myself in the mix, I feel like I lost some games and I'm still here, so it's just unfortunate."

I like what Rome said about what TO said. "Either it was the guy who misses the big kick with the game on the line, or it's the receiver who drops wide open touchdown passes like it's a fad. Parcells chose to keep you TO."
:D

colleyvillesooner
11/30/2006, 02:20 PM
Yeah, cause he's dropping wide open touchdown passes left and right.

Heh I don't like him all that much, but his bit on TO in that regard was funny. "Get rid of the guy who misses the kick, or the guy who drops touchdown passes..hmm"
