Leaving from the Fiancé's parents house Saturday morning. Google maps says US-169 all the way to I-35 North in Ottawa. I have also heard I-44 to 71 North. My hotel is in Overland Park off I-35, so I'm thinking 169 since it ends up by the hotel. What is US-169 traffic like?

169 is a turd of a highway north of Owasser. I've taken it and it's a real pain. Take 44 to 71. Much easier.

Sorry I hit your fiancee in the head with that wetnap, I got excited when I saw T Boone in person.

169 Isn't all that bad, not much traffic and it takes you right to Olathe and I-35. That's the way we're going up from Bartlesville.

I took 169 from Tulsa to KC last night. It took me 210 minutes to get there.

You must've missed the Rav-4 with a deer through the windshield that stopped traffic for 45 minutes then. Damn, that was ugly.

I always take 169 from Tulsa to KC. Just like Crimson says, when there aren't any mishaps with wildlife it takes about 3.5 hours. If your hotel is in OP, then 71 is way out of your way.

Lots of good suggestions, but I'd have to say a stretch Hummer limo.

How about I-44 to Joplin, Highway 71 straight North to KC?

If you're staying in a hotel on the East side of town, then that's a good way. Seems most folks are staying on the SW side of town though.

169 may be a crappy road but it's the quickest route. only suckers would drive over to I-35.
I used to go up 75 to Independence (Neewollah baby!) then cut over to 169 but now I go for the straight shot.
