some poor Zero State fans. One of them said he felt as good as could
be expected after being beaten by us, but he did say he was used to
it. Another one said what really ****ed him off was how "we descrate
the national anthem" the way we do and he said that if I had a brother
who had fought in Vietnam, I wouldn't do that. Another said we do
it just because we are arrogant and have won a lot of games.
Just about what I expected from them. They do HATE being beaten
by us, no matter how many times it continues to happen.

I relish the victory much more after their tirades!!

Gotta agree with them on the National Anthem thing. I wish we'd stop doing that. I hate it worse than the horsepigs.

I don't mind it at all...but I wasn't in Vietnam.

Anyway, here's the thing, its a song about America and a pretty cool one at that. It's set to the tune of an 18th century English drinking song. (Google-up "To Anachreon in Heaven")

That said, I'm glad its still played and sung before most sporting events. The way things are going in this country, within my lifetime I expect the practice will cease because the anthem is not suitably PC...what with the "bombs bursting, rockets glaring, gallantly waving" and all that.

For now, if my Okie peeps want to change the last word to "Sooners," then I say go ahead on with it...in fact, I do it myself. Frankly, I doubt Francis Scott Key would mind. He'd prolly be tickled we get into it that much.

You'll pardon me if I show no sympathy to the bastards this week.

I'd just as soon stab them all in the neck with a fork.

AND I hope they get passed over for a bowl invite by a team with 7 wins.

Ahhh, but the entire state is the "Home of the Sooners".

Want to have some fun with your aggie friends? Tell them they are, in fact, Sooners. Since this is "The Sooner State" all of its inhabitants are Sooners!

In the same way, you can have fun with your friends from Wyoming by telling them they are, in fact, Equalities.
