Out of the thousands of reasons I want OU to win today I think the main one is that I want Paul Thompson to get the chance to play for a Big 12 Championionship.

For all the preseason criticism he took, and the grudging respect that he has earned from the media, he has handled himself with class and helped lead this team to the opportunity they have today.

There's no doubt that Coach Stoops and the coaching staff have done an excellent job this year and they deserve all the accolades that they get, but I think Thompson's leadership, his attitude, and the way he's carried himself had a huge impact on this team.

Thompson has let his play do the talking this year and quarterbacking a team to a Big 12 Championship would be the best statement he could ever make.

Paul is the definition of a true team player. He gets picked over for Rhett, but then takes the job right back after Boooomar got dismissed. He takes us 10-2, ( 11-1, cough cough), and the season that could have been lost from the start turned out to be about as good as you could have hoped.
