And herein lies why America is the most venerated, and yet most hated county: We are so magnificently blessed. No other nation comes close in diversity of natural beauty, standard of living, technological achievement, wealth, diversity of culture, or longevity of democratic institutions. Whether you attribute it to deity (as I do), or human innovation solely, Americans have much to be thankful for every day of the year. Assuredly we stand on the shoulders of giants who have cemented our place in history.
