...or Bill O'Reilly will think you're ruining America.

http://blog.wired.com/cultofmac/2006/11/bill_oreilly_ha.html

And I quote:

I don’t own an iPod. I would never wear an iPod… If this is your primary focus in life - the machines… it’s going to have a staggeringly negative effect, all of this, for America… did you ever talk to these computer geeks? I mean, can you carry on a conversation with them? …I really fear for the United States because, believe me, the jihadists? They’re not playing the video games. They’re killing real people over there.

well it is a little pathetic that people have to carry around gadgets 24/7 to keep themselves amused.

seems like as good a place as any...

Bobby Bowden said this to reporters on why his son failed:

“Because you all ignited it,” he said to a small room of reporters. “You listen to eBay and e-mail and all that junk, and you all kept writing about it and that fans it and makes it grow and grow, and it becomes a cancer. That’s why.”

Of course he hates the iPod. It takes people away from their Fox News groupthink session.

Heh. Now, I don't get the people that are incapable of, say, walking across campus without headphones jammed in their ears. For me, though, I study a lot of music, and sometimes I don't have time to just sit in front of my stereo to do it. Carrying an iPod is a heck of a lot more convenient than carrying a stack of 12 cds around.

I wouldn't use the thing while walking around, though, or instead of talking to people.

I think it's funny that it sounds like he's saying "screw getting your kids a 360! Get them out there with a gun and let them start taking shots at people! That'll get 'em ready for double-U double-U 3!"

I don't always agree with Bill O'Reilly, but you do have to give the guy some credit for coming out against his own employers and standing up regarding the O.J. Simpson book & interview? Even if you think he was wrong for standing up and critisizing it, he stood on his own priciples regarding what he believed. Just sayin'. :D
