Has anyone ever hired laborers from a temp service? I'm talking about personal stuff. I've hired them for work before but we always had an agreement with a few places so all I had to do was call and then sign their ticket at the end of the day.

I know that in Fort Worth I could easily get some illegals to come help me out but I'm trying to do my part here.

Any suggestions? Advice?

And they don't really want to work either.

I thought I was gonna have to hire an illegal as some places wanted me to be a business. I tried splanin' that I was a sole propritor but that dent work.

I have two guys coming over at noon. I figure that the alcohol will either be out of their systems by then or they will have already began drinking for the day.

I almost just hired one guy but at $11.50/hr I figured I'd save my back and just supervise.

They should have a pretty easy day. I just have a bedroom suit couch and recliner and a few boxes. I bet we can get it all in one load.

This is what you're reduced to when you have no friends.

I wasn't able to get down here until yesterday or I would have had free help.

I kinda feel like Bruce, buying people and all.

i worked for a landscaper for a summer in florida. besides it being hotter than hell, my boss had to deal with a temp service (labor makers, or something or other) on "laying sod day". if i'm not mistaken, it costs quite a bit extra for the service - like $15+ per hour, per person. you have to cover the cost of their labor, and the cost of the administrative crap.

and yes, they love to NOT work very hard.

This deal is gonna cost me $11.50/hr. 8 man hours is $92.00. I'm assuming these guys get paid about $6/hr.

holy crap, there is a hawt chick in the showcase showdown on TPIR. verry hawt!!! well, not very hawt but she's pretty danged sexy.
