SOONERS WEEKLY
For the Week of November 20, 2006

SOONERS SWEEP SPARTANS
NO GAMES THIS WEEKEND FOR No. 3 OKLAHOMA
SKATE WITH THE SOONERS IN DOWNTOWN OKC THIS SUNDAY NIGHT

THIS WEEK’S GAMES - The University of Oklahoma® hockey club (17-0-0) have the weekend off for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Sooners return to action on December 1 & 2 when they host ACHA D2 Missouri State (6-4-0) for a pair of games.

LAST WEEK’S OU HOCKEY GAMES – Oklahoma hosted ACHA D2 power Michigan State (6-7-0) for a pair of games this past weekend. The Sooners scored one goal in each period on Friday night and goaltender Aaron Schmeilski was outstanding in net for OU, stopping every shot from the Spartans on the way to a 3-0 shutout win. On Saturday night, Keith Denton scored twice for the Sooners and Schmeilski was solid in net again as OU cruised to a 5-1 win. Dating back to the last game of the 05-06 season, Oklahoma has now won 18 straight games. No. 1 Illinois lost this weekend, which means that Oklahoma is the only remaining unbeaten team in ACHA D1 play this season.

SOONERS TO SKATE IN DOWNTOWN OKC – The Sooners will participate in Oklahoma City’s Fifth Annual Downtown in December winter celebration by skating at the Braum’s Ice Rink on Sunday, November 26th at 7:00 P.M. The Braum’s Ice Rink is a 62 x 150 foot outdoor rink on the grounds of Civic Center Park in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City at 201 North Walker. Sooners players will be on the ice at the Braum’s Ice Rink and available for autographs and photos. Tickets to upcoming OU Hockey games, game programs and other OU Hockey items also will be given away by the players. The cost to skate at the Braum’s Ice Rink is $8.00 for the two-hour session (including skate rental) and only $5.00 for those who supply their own skates. Skaters will be able to refuel at the Braum's Ice Rink Café with hot cocoa, coffee, soda, hot dogs, hamburgers and, of course, ice cream. The Downtown in December winter celebration is presented by the Downtown OKC Business Improvement District.

RANKINGS – The Sooners are ranked 3rd in the most recent ACHA Coaches Division 1 ranking. The next ACHA D1 ranking is scheduled to be released this Friday.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE – The Sooners practice this week at the Blazers Ice Centre on Monday from 4:30-6:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 8:45-10:30 P.M.
